| Prof. Zorica Karakutovska was the first ever accordion soloist to perform in the new building of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra. This state-of-the-art concert hall of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra in Skopje was opened last year on May 21st. This year, on May 21st, exactly one year later, on the occasion for a celebration of the 69th anniversary of the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius (UKIM)” - Skopje and May 24th - Saints Cyril and Methodius, Slavonic Enlighteners' Day, the accordionist Prof. Zorica Karakutovska performed as a soloist with the Big Band from the Faculty of Music Arts - Skopje. They performed the popular composition “Libertango” by Astor Piazzolla (arr. Fred Sturm). It was an excellent performance of accordion and other instruments in front of an academic audience, and an outstanding promotion of accordion. I hope for many more accordion performances to come! |
