 On Wednesday March 30th, 1.10pm, the Duo Bayanello consisting of: Iosif Purits (accordion) and Cecilia Bignall (cello), perform works by de Falla and Gubaidulina at St James' Church, London W1J 9LL. Free admission, no ticket required.The program includes: - ‘Suite populaire espagnole’ composed by Manuel de Falla, arranged for cello and piano by Maurice Maréchal; - ‘In Croce' for cello and bayan composed by Sofia Gubaidulina; - ‘Le Grand Tango’ - Astor Piazzolla. Both are studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and Iosif Purits an have performed in many countries, both in solo and chamber music projects. Cecilia won the Ian Alexander Scholarship to the Royal Academy to study with Robert Cohen, and was awarded the Montefiore Prize. She has performed at the Wigmore Hall, Colston Hall, the Norfolk and Norwhich Festival and the Aurora Festival in Sweden, among others. Iosif is a prize-winner at 30 International competitions. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, George Weston Recital Hall, Nybrokajen Concert Hall, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and UNESCO among others. In 2013 Iosif won the ABRSM International Postgraduate Award, bringing him to London for his post-graduate studies at the Royal Academy. |
