  The 10th Accordion Art Festival (President Claudio Azzaro & Artistic Director Renzo Ruggieri), was held 18th and 19th June 2016 in Roseto Degli Abruzzi to the enjoyment of the audiences at the Palazzo del Mare.There were competitors from Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Moldova, and of course Italy. The evening concerts were high level events with the Vitali Dmitriev (Russia) and Andrea Di Giacomo who made the premiere his new CD "Accordion Colours". The Orpheus Award for the three best CDs (picture right) of the year 2015 was: - Classical, Antonio Peruch, "Homage to Tango" CD - Jazz, Simone Zanchini, "Don't Try This" CD - World, Marco Lo Russo / Gino Marcelli, "Cinematic" CD The L'Italia Award competitions winners were: Group - K.A. Duo (Lithuania) Classical Accordion - Shirokov Rodion (Russia) Virtuoso Accordion - Valerio Russo (Italy) Diatonic Accordion - Matthew Di Prospero (Italy). The Art Festival includes selection of Italian candidates to qualify for the 2016 Trophee Mondial to be held in September in Portugal. These are: Davide di Filippo (Classic Senior), Michele Petronio (Junior Variété), Gianluca Polini (Junior Variété), Emmilio Rea (Junior Variété), Lorenzo Bosica (Senior Variété), Daniele Carabetta (Senior Variété), Andrea di Giacomo (Senior Variété), John German (Senior Variété), Jacopo Valente (National Trophy). |
