John Kirkpatrick’s new CD ‘Tunes from the Trenches’, Shropshire – UK

CD ‘Tunes from the Trenches’CD ‘Tunes from the Trenches’Folk singer/diatonic accordionist John Kirkpatrick has recently been performing a solo show, in period costume, featuring songs from the two world wars. A great deal of research has gone into this project to ensure authenticity. He has now recorded a CD, ‘Tunes from the Trenches’, on the Fledgling label, catalogue number is FLED 3099, and available from John Kirkpatrick’s website.

The songs and parodies are full versions, sung by John, with chorus support from his four sons “representing the British army on the march”! He accompanies himself on the 3-row British chromatic accordion and the Anglo concertina, plus various rhythmic instruments.
