Polish Arts Festival ‘Accordion Marathon’, Southend – UKby Rob Howard |
The Polish Arts Festival welcomes accordion artists from throughout Europe for the ‘Accordion Marathon’, to be held in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, on September 1st and 2nd. The venue is the City Beach Stage, corner Southchurch Avenue and Eastern Esplanade, Southend. The ‘Marathon’ will celebrate the role of the accordion in traditional, classical, and Polish contemporary contexts, and also its intercultural significance across the European Union. Starting at 12 midday, four accordion artists will appear each day, one after the other. They will perform a concert of approximately 75 minutes each.
