Accordion Radio Show Available on Podcast – Radio Franceby Rob Howard |
 ‘Des vagues et des lames’, introduced by Pascal Contet, is the title of a show about the accordion in different parts of Europe, broadcast on Radio France on July 18th. The programme can still be heard via Poscast, and the link is: http://sites.radiofrance.fr/francemusique/em/vagues/emission.php?e_id=90000052This programme, one of a weekly series about instrumental and choral musical traditions, features music played by Aitor Furundarena, Didier Laloy, Jacky Molard Quartet, Ricardo Tesi, Filippo Gambetta, Jean Marie Machado, Yves Weih, Marianne Piketty, Roberto di Brasov, Jean François Baez, and David Venituci. The accordion music heard comes from Brittany, Corsica, the Spanish Basque region, Italy, Portugal, Romania, and Hungary. The next show, broadcast on July 25th, 6pm, looks at how the accordion and bandoneon developed in Argentina since these instruments arrived there in the 19th Century.
