Jazz Violinist Didier Lockwood Invites Jean-Baptiste Baudin Onstage, Saint-Saturnin – France

Jean-Baptiste BaudinThe great Stephane Grappelli called Didier Lockwood, "my son in music" and this world-famous jazz and classical violinist performed his new one-man/violin show in a French village during a Contemporary Art Festival titled "Les Jours de lumière" (The Days of Light) at the end of Autumn 2017.

The organizers of the festival had engaged solo accordionists to walk from one exhibition venue to another and perform jazz and classical pieces in each. Looking for high-level young musicians, the organizers had called the famous and unique full-time accordion school, CNIMA J.Mornet.

Nathalie Boucheix, CNIMA’s manager (and international prize winner) recommended two former students: Basha Slavinska, winner of many classical and contemporary music awards in Poland and France, and Jean-Baptiste Baudin, laureate of international accordion competitions.

Didier Lockwood was visiting the exhibition and heard Jean-Baptiste Baudin performing during the afternoon. The great violinist congratulated "JB" Baudin and asked him (to the happy surprise of the 20 year old musician) to attend the evening concert with his accordion. And near the end of the show… see the video above!
