Dominic Karcic Entertains, New York – USAby Rob Howard |
On Saturday November 22nd, 6pm, accordionist Dominic Karcic entertains for a Regione Emilia-Romagna Dinner-Dance at Maestro's Caterers, 1703 Bronxdale Ave, Bronx, NY. Dominic Karcic attended New York College of Music and the City University of New York (CCNY), where he received his Masters Degree in Music. He plays professionally in the New York metropolitan area, and has a particular love for the Valtaro Musette style, gained through his years of study with Peter Spagnoli. In recent years he has been involved in the preservation and documentation of this musical style. He collaborated in writing a biographical article on the life and career of accordionist John “Scudlein” Brugnoli (founder of the Valtaro Musette Orchestra) and has continued writing articles about Valtaro Musette music. In June 2003, Dominic joined the Board of Governors of the American Accordionists' Association (AAA) and writes a column (“Heard It On The Gig”) for the AAA Newsletter. |
