National Composers’ Competition, Stoke – UKby Rob Howard |
Organised bi-annually by the North Staffs Accordion Club since 2000, the National Accordion Music Composers’ Competition is an innovative idea meant to encourage the writing of new compositions for the accordion. The NSAC has subsequently released many of the entries in book form and on CD, played by the composers or other accordionists. From now on, the competition will be run on an annual basis, and organised by the National Accordion Organisation of the UK (NAO), and held at the UK Championships in Blackpool, April 24th to 26th 2009. The Composers’ Competition will follow closely those of previous years but with a few differences. Solo and duets will be separated into different sections. Competitors may enter two compositions in any applicable section (Professional, Amateur, Junior, Duet and Band/Group). For further information email NAO Secretary: naouk@btinternet.com |
