CD Nominated for the Norwegian ‘Grammy Awards’, Oslo - Norwayby Rob Howard |
 This week accordionist Øivind Farmen's latest CD, ‘Norwegian Safari’, (cover left) was nominated for ‘Spellemannprisen’ (the Norwegian equivalent to the ‘Grammy Awards’) in the category of contemporary music. Øivind Farmen - picture lower left.The announcement of the winner will be held on a national TV show, on March 5th 2011. The CD contains music from the composers H. Berge, A. Bibalo, W. Plagge, T. Bjørklund and S. Lillebjerka. It is all solo accordion, except one piece played together with the renowned violinist Elise Båtnes, concert master of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
