International Accordion Competition, Vilnius – Lithuaniaby Rob Howard |

 The International Accordion Competition Vilnius 2011, organized by the Lithuanian Accordion Association, takes place from April 6th to 9th. The venue is the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.This increasingly prestigious festival also includes the ninth annual National Lithuanian Accordion Competition, which also serves as a selection process for entry to the International Accordion Competitions. Competitors are grouped into 11 categories by the age and the chosen genre of the performance. We will hear the soloists and ensembles of various configurations, also the orchestras performing various genres of music. Entries close, March 10, 2011.
