 The Accordions Worldwide news for December 18th 1998 included a report of a Danish accordion band’s Christmas CD release. Although Denmark is a country where we know that the accordion is popular and also studied at conservatory level, surprisingly little news reaches Accordions Worldwide about accordion events there. It would be good to have more news.CHRISTMAS CD RELEASE - DENMARK Contributed by Arne Morsing Danish group ‘Thisted Accordion Band’ has recently released a CD of Christmas songs. The CD includes well known songs such as Jingle Bells, Let it Snow, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Feliz Navidad, I saw Mama kissing Santa Claus and Winter Wonderland. The Thisted Accordion Band comprises eleven accordionists, drums, bass, guitar and banjo.They perform concerts in Denmark and recently appeared on Danish television for the first time. They have released two CDs so far and plan to release a third in 1999. |
