On April 20th, the American-born Willoughby Ann Walshe celebrates her 80th birthday – in Europe. In the accordion scene, the economics journalist became well known through her highly respected and successful translations of outstanding specialist books such as the German version of the Russian publication by Friedrich Lips "Die Kunst des Bajanspiels" Catalog: kslips01 or in English "The Art of Bayan Playing & Playing the Accordion Artistically" Catalog: kslips00 both books published by Karthause-Schmülling, Germany. As a freelancer for the editorial department of the Intermusik newspaper, Willoughby Ann Walsh attended and reported on many accordion events over many years and became very recognized within the accordion scene. In her own book titled "Walshe Essential Guide to Accordion and Harmonica Events" Catalog: kswalshe00 (also published by Karthause-Schmülling), Walshe compiled her extensive knowledge of events impressively for this publication.
