Earthquake Benefit Concert, Agora de Bonneville - Franceby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
Serge and Corinne Petronio, former students of the Accordion School Annemasse and Geneva, about twenty years ago founded their own Accordion School in L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy. They have together with their two boys Michele and Matteo a home in the same city. At the beginning of April 2009, in less than 25 seconds, all of their beautiful projects disappeared in an earthquake. The building they lived in was literally gone. They had just enough time to run off and seek shelter. Everything collapsed around them, swallowing furniture, instruments, vehicles, etc. All four are alive, but the entire fruits of their work are destroyed. The School of Accordion Annemasse and Geneva has thus decided to help by organizing a concert in their support. Mr T. Shield, head teacher and his wife Christine, childhood friends of Serge and Corinne, would like to contact artistes who would like to join their project. They invite as many people to participate in this benefit concert on Friday June 26th, 8.30pm, at the Agora de Bonneville. The program includes Les Frères Bouclier, accordionist Jean Louis Noton, and world famous violinist William Garcin and his gypsy group. Tickets are on sale at the entrance. A minimum of €10 donation is suggested (5 € for children under 12 years). |
