20th Anniversary of the Great Accordion Cruise - Finlandby Minna Plihtari |
The 2011 20th Anniversary of the Great Accordion Cruise took place on 6th to 7th March. The biggest ship of the Baltic Sea 'M/S Silja Europa' was full with accordion lovers with over 2,500 people on board. The Great Accordion Cruise features accordion music day and night for the whole 24 hour cruise with all the ship one big accordion family. The cruise also includes the semifinals of the Golden and Silver Accordion competitions. The Golden Accordion finalists for 2011 are: Timo Hautamäki, Elina Joensuu, Juuso-Aarne Kontiainen, Marko Kotilainen, Ella Laiho and Emilia Mäkelä. The 2011 Silver Accordion finalists for children up to 10 years are: Pilvi Huhta, Jonna Hytönen, Sonja Lampinen, Sara Niittyviita, Viola Ojanen, Isla Rekola and Linda Ullgrén. The Golden and Silver Accordion competition finals will be held at the Sata-Häme Soi Accordion Festival in Ikaalinen on 29th June 2011 with live broadcast on national TV and internationally on the internet. TheGreat Accordion Cruise also had concerts, dance music, community singing, accordion players all over the ship… and all had a wonderful 24 hours of music and fun! |
