"Zhang Ziqiang, nacido en 1929 en Shanghai, es profesor de la Academia de Artes del Ejército Popular de Liberación de China, presidente honorario de la Asociación de Acordeón de la Asociación de Músicos Chinos, profesor a tiempo parcial del Departamento de Educación Musical del Conservatorio de Música de China y profesor distinguido del Art College en la Universidad Normal de Beijing. Solía ​​ser el supervisor del grupo profesional de acordeón de Beijing, el tercer presidente de la Asociación de Acordeón y el subdirector de la quinta Comisión de música social de la Asociación de Músicos Chinos, así como el intérprete de acordeón de el Conjunto de Arte del Departamento Político General del Ejército Popular de Liberación de China ".

El estonio Tiit Kalluste presentó el Premio al Mérito de la CIA - Estonia

La Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) otorgó al acordeonista estonio Tiit Kalluste (foto a la izquierda) con un "Premio al Mérito" este mes.
 
El 13 de octubre, Tiit Kalluste tocó un concierto con su quinteto en el festival de jazz "Jazzkaar" que se celebró en el Museo de Arte Kumu en Tallin. Al final del concierto, el Secretario General de la CIA, Kimmo Mattila, le otorgó a Tiit el premio por su notable carrera como acordeonista y una cooperación positiva con la CIA.

Kimmo Mattila, Secretario General de la CIA, dijo: "Me gusta mucho la música de Tiit Kalluste y su maravillosa forma de tocar el acordeón. Ha creado un estilo personal que combina jazz tradicional y música nórdica contemporánea. ¡Su concierto junto con jóvenes músicos de jazz fue simplemente genial! ”.

La Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) es una organización mundial que consta de 43 organizaciones miembros en todo el mundo.

La CIA fue fundada en 1935 y es una de las organizaciones musicales internacionales más antiguas del mundo. La CIA es miembro del Consejo Internacional de Música, que es un socio oficial de la UNESCO.

La Asociación de Acordeón de Estonia (Eesti Akordioniliit) ha sido miembro de pleno derecho de la CIA desde 2004. En marzo de este año, Eesti Akordioniliit organizó el Congreso anual de invierno de la CIA en Tallin.

Tiit Kalluste fue presidente de Eesti Akordioniliit de 1999 a 2011 y durante este tiempo la asociación fue nombrada miembro de votación de estreno de la CIA.

El Premio al Mérito de la CIA es el más alto reconocimiento del movimiento internacional de acordeón. Se otorga a uno o dos músicos distinguidos cada año, que han hecho una carrera excepcional con el acordeón. El Premio al Mérito está autorizado por la Asamblea General de la CIA, por lo que refleja una aprobación y reconocimiento mundial.

Este año, el Premio al Mérito de la CIA también fue otorgado a (Crystal) Wang Congyu de China.

Stas Venglevski actúa con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Menomonee Falls - Estados Unidos

Stas VenglevskiLa Orquesta Sinfónica de Menomonee Falls (MFSO - imagen a continuación) Concierto de Winter Pops con el acordeonista Stas Venglevski (imagen a la izquierda) se llevará a cabo el 14 de diciembre. El concierto se titula "Cuentos de hadas y fantasías navideños" y se llevará a cabo en el Centro de Bellas Artes de Hamilton en Sussex, Wisconsin a partir de las 7:30 p.m.

La música incluye la "Marcha de los soldados de hojalata", "La doncella de nieve" y "Babes en Toyland".

¡Stas interpretará un concierto de Galla-Rini, junto con la música de The Nutcracker Suite y otros favoritos navideños!

35 ° Festival Internacional de Acordeón en San Petersburgo - Rusia

Alexander DmitrievEl 35 ° Festival Internacional de Acordeón se llevará a cabo en el Salón Blanco de la Universidad Politécnica de San Petersburgo del 27 de octubre al 2 de noviembre de 2019. El Director de Arte del festival durante 35 años es el Artista de Honor de Rusia, Prof. Alexander Dmitriev (imagen a la izquierda).

Results of XII International Accordion Composition Competition “Francisco Escudero” – Spain

Esudero logoThe XII International Accordion Composition Competition “Francisco Escudero” was held in Hernani, Gipuzkoa last month.

The objective of the contest is to promote the creation of pieces for solo accordion and for accordion in chamber music.

The competition jury comprised of Zuriñe Fernández Gerenabarrena, Eugenia Luc and Iñaki Alberdi.

Results:

1st prize: Lina Tonia (Greece)
Title: The Sea of Rains
Instruments: accordion, piano, violin and cello

2nd prize: Michalis Lapidakis (Greece)
Title: Murmurs of an Invisible Island
Instruments: accordion, flute and cello

Special Mention Premier Award: Antonio Macaretti (Italy)

Julien Labro Presents “The Art of the Accordion” in New York - USA

Julien LabroAccordion and bandoneón player Julien Labro will perform at St. Bonaventure University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts in New York on October 18th at 7.30pm. This is the second concert in the 2019-2020 Friends of Good Music performance season.

In a concert entitled “The Art of the Accordion,” Labro will guide the audience through the history of accordion and bandoneon, performing works by Albeniz, Bach, Scarlatti, a French medley, tangos by Astor Piazzolla, and some compositions of his own.

“Piazzolla Plus” with James Crabb Concerts - UK

Accordionist James Crabb (picture below left) will give a concert series in the UK from October 24th to 27th organised by Sinfonia Cymru.

James will be accompanied by an orchestra of young players from Sinfonia Cymru. Their program will include a variety of pieces such as Astor Piazzolla (arr. Crabb): Libertango; Romance del Diablo; La Muerte del Angel, Arvo Pärt: Fratres, Antonio Vivaldi (arr. Crabb): Concerto RV542 in F-Major, Kalevi Aho (arr. Crabb): Kolme Tangoa, Antonio Agri/Jose Carli (arr. Crabb): Desde Adentro and Astor Piazzolla : Aconcagua Concerto.

Fifth International Accordion Meeting in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil

The Fifth International Accordion Meeting will be held at the Town Hall in Río de Janeiro on October 19th and 20th organised and directed by Moráis do Acordeón.

Sergey Osokin Concert and Masterclasses – Russia

Sergey OsokinAccordionist Sergey Osokin will hold a concert and masterclasses in Surgut, Russia from October 24th to 28th.

The Masterclasses will be held at the Surgut College of Music, St. Enthusiasts, d. 28 in Surgut. Subjects to be covered are original masterwork by accordion, baroque and romantic styles.

The concert will be held on October 26th in the College Organ Hall at 6pm. Sergey will play his own arrangements such as “C'est si bon” by Henri Betty and “Whispering” by Paul Whiteman.

Gorka Hermosa Presents New CD “Atlantia Ë Ria” - Spain

CD coverAccordionist Gorka Hermosa will present his new CD “Atlantia Ë Ria” together with flamenco guitarist José Luis Montón and Guinean singer Piruchi Apo with concerts in Spain over the next month.

Dates are:

November 15th: Leioa Auditorium in Leioa, Bizkaia

The CD includes pieces by each of the three main performers as well as Basque traditional piece "Fasio" among others.

Halloween with “Lemon Bucket Orkestra” in Nelson – Canada

LBOThe “Lemon Bucket Orkestra” will perform a Halloween concert with Slava Doval Dance Fusion & The Oxygen Orkestar at Spiritbar at the Hume Hotel in Nelson on October 31st.

The group which includes accordionist Marichka Marczyk along with trumpet, saxophone, guitars, violins, trombone, percussions and vocalists play music based on musical traditions of the Balkan region, such as Balkan, klezmer, gypsy and punk.

The Kosmos Ensemble will perform at Balliol Hall, Balliol College, University of Oxford in Oxford, England on November 3rd at 8.30pm.

Registrations Underway for IDEAS Symposium 2.0 – USA

Registrations are underway for the IDEAS Symposium 2.0 for Digital Accordion which will be held at the Avalon Inn & Resort in Warren, Ohio from November 6th to 10th, 2019.

This year’s event will include a new approach which has been designed to assist digital accordion enthusiasts to learn the technology of their digital instruments.

The technology department of GR8 IDEAS Symposium 2.0 have orchestrated a set of classroom type sessions with hands on training that will build up your technical knowledge so that you can achieve your goals artistically and creatively.

The classroom sessions are organized into three levels: Tech Level I, II, III to grow your knowledge from your starting point.

Tech Level I will focus on operation fundamentals, menu navigation, backup, restore, sets and user programs, and sound selection.

Tech Level II will focus the next stage of learning with topics such as user program creation, combining sounds, organ and percussion programming, sound editing and recording.

Tech Level III will focus on advanced programming, MIDI configuration, effects usage and editing, comprehensive discussions on User Programs and Sets, as well as student initial topics. Nowhere in the world has something like this been offered.

Vardos Trio Perform at Melbourne Recital Centre – Australia

Vardos Trio (which includes accordionist Sophia Chapman) will perform at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Primrose Potter Salon in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on November 8th at 6pm.

This concert is part of a series entitled “From the Caravan to the Club”. The trio specialise in eclectic modern gypsy music from Romania, tracing the beloved musical tradition to its Eastern sources.

Gran Festival Salto Ciudad - Uruguay

Uruguayan folklore band “Fuelles Salteños” (picture below) will perform their Uruguayan traditional music at the Gran Festival Salto Ciudad which will be held at Parque Vaimaca Piru (Indigena) on November 9th and 10th.

The band (which was formed by accordionist & teacher Elida Rusconi) consists of vocalists Caterin Zaz & Vanessa Zaz, accordionists Elida Rusconi, Walter Olhausen & Carlos Seyañes, Federico Zacarias (bass), Franco Nuñez (guitar) and Miguel Acosta (drums).
