 Ralph Benatzky (1884-1957) was a composer of popular operettas in Austria, and his most performed work is ‘White Horse Inn’. Set in St Wolfgang, in the Austrian Tyrol, this show and its songs have contributed to the tourist image of Austria as an alpine idyll.A new production of ‘White Horse Inn’, featuring accordionist Mirjana Petercol, takes place at the Staatstheater, Darmstadt, Wiesbaden, from December14th to 30th and January 3rd to 16th 2010 (and on February 6th, 21st and 27th, March 26th, April 9th and 25th, and May 13th, 20th and 25th.
