 The 70th International CIA Coupe Mondiale, 5th to 10th September, 2017 is in Osimo, Italy, hosted by the Italian CIA member, Italian Accordion Culture (IAC). All are welcomed to this exciting international accordion event and accordionists are invited to perform in the CIA "World Accordion Orchestra IX". The World Accordion Orchestra IX under the direction of Prof. Joan Sommers will perform three works: 1. “Omaggio a Pietro Overture” by Pietro Frosini is a fitting tribute to the early Italian pioneers of the accordion. Frosini and Deiro who wrote the original work and Galla-rini who arranged the work for orchestra. 2. “La La Land” medley composed by Justin Hurwitz. 3. "Beauty and the Beast" medley by Alan Menken The members of the CIA WAO IX will again include musicians from many different countries – including many officers of the CIA and delegates attending the 138th CIA Congress.
