Hof Accordionists Concert Tour - Brazilby Kevin Friedrich |
The accordion duo Julian Feulner and Johannes Dimmling of the Hofer Symphoniker music school visited Brazil in early October for two weeks together with their teacher Günther Zeilinger (middle, lower picture). The duo gave concerts in 6 different venues. The first concert took place in Caruaru, a city that has close economic links with Hof, Bavaria, and also happens to be the home of the accordion-led Brazilian Forró regional folk music. Forró is typically played by accordion, drums and triangle. A TV program was recorded at the concert of the two German accordionists plus two local Forró players, demonstrating the contrast between their respective styles and repertoires. The concerts held in the cities of Recife and Rio de Janeiro were made possible through the cooperation of the Consulate-Generals of the Federal Republic of Germany. The concert in Recife took place in that city’s Conservatory. There were a further two concerts in in Rio de Janeiro and Salvador da Bahia. The concert in Salvador da Bahia took place in the church where the German organist Hans Bönisch has played, and was part of an international musical series established 16 years ago. Julian Feulner and Johannes Dimmling were the first accordion duo to play there. For further information email: julian_feulner@t-online.de |
