100th Work Published Online by Yehuda Oppenheimer - Israel

Yehuda OppenheimerYehuda Oppenheimer, "the father" of the accordion in Israel, now 84 years old, has just published his 100th work on the MusicForAccordion.com website. The publications include original music by Yehuda Oppenheimer as well as arrangements from various periods of history, for solo and duets.

Yehuda Oppenheimer remembers being part of the Tropheé Mondiale Jury in 1966 in Valencia when Richard Galliano won the competition playing his composition which was the test piece: ‘Ciaccona’ Variations on "La Folia" an old Portuguese folk tune..

The 100th work is an original composition (duet) named ‘Eilat’ (catalog OY600). This composition was used as the main theme of the movie ‘Love at Second Sight’, which was produced in 1998 and directed by the renowned Israeli filmmaker and actress Michal Bat-Adam. The movie is an intriguing tale of romantic obsession in present-day Tel Aviv. This work is also available as a solo.

To celebrate, the first 500 accordionists to email: musicforaccordion@yahoo.com will receive a free copy of ‘Eilat’ – please specify if you want duet or solo version.
