 The 2009 ATG Competition and Festival ‘Accordion Renaissance’ will be held from August 13th to 16th at the Hilton Minneapolis/St.Paul Airport Mall of America, 3800 American Boulevard East, Bloomington, Minneapolis, MN.Appearing this year will be the 2007 Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Champion Alexander Sevastian. Also appearing is Roland artist Don McMahon, former National Champion Jeff Lisenby and John Scaffeo. Workshops include topics and demonstrations by Dr. Helmi Harrington and Dr. Marion Jacobson, Musik Garten, Orkestar Bez Ime, Alexander Sevastian, Don McMahon, Michele Boddicker Scheffler, Button Box America, and many others. James Touchi-Peters, Conductor Emeritus of the Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra, is the guest conductor of the ATG Festival Orchestra. Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International (ATG) was established in 1940 by a group of 29 founding members including the late Anthony Galla-Rini, ATG President Emeritus.
