American accordion virtuoso Henry Doktorski gave a very well received solo recital at the Carnegie Library, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Sunday January 12th. It was standing room only as Henry performed well-known pieces, demonstrating the versatility of the accordion. The program included: ‘Hungarian Dance No. 5’ - Johannes Brahms, ‘Ave Maria’ - Franz Schubert, ‘Clarinet Polka’ - Traditional Polish, ‘Oblivion’ - Astor Piazzolla, ‘Czardas’ - Vittorio Monti, Theme and Variation on Richard Rodgers' ‘Edelweiss’ - Henry Doktorski, ‘My Florence’ and ‘Deiro Rag’ - Guido Deiro, and ‘Celestina Polka’ - Pietro Deiro. |
