| Due to the COVID-19 situation and a strong earthquake recently, which shook Zagreb damaging the Croatian Music Institute Concert Hall significantly, organisers have been forced to postpone the International Accordion Concerto Competition. The Competition was established to identify talented musicians and help them develop their careers through a concerto setting (solo instrument with orchestra) which is generally less accessible to accordion. The aim was to bring accordionists to Zagreb, Croatia to perform in a competition for international exposure with eminent orchestras, debutes at famous concert halls, tours and an album release. Competition prizes included performances in Germany, Austria, and China with Philharmonic orchestras. Organisers hope to reschedule the competition dates as soon as possible.
