NAO Northern Ireland Open Accordion Championships, Carrickfergus – UKby Rob Howard |
  The 21st NAO Northern Ireland Open Accordion Championships, organised by Clyde Johnston (picture right), are being held in the Loughshore Hotel, Carrickfergus, on Saturday February 24th 2018 running from 9am until 5pm, with the Prize Presentation taking place that night in the hotel at a Gala Dance.Catering for all types of accordion music with Solo, Duet, Group, Orchestral and Marching Band Sections suitable for all ages and grades and ranging in styles from classical and continental to traditional, it promises to be another large scale musical feast with three halls in use all day. The Championships are run under the rules of the National Accordion Organisation of the United Kingdom (NAO) and are a qualifying event for the 2018 UK Championships being held in Liverpool, 27th – 29th April 2018.
