El 38º Concurso de Acordeón VAMÖ 2023 se celebrará en Yamaha Music Europe Gmbh en Viena, Austria, los días 25 y 26 de febrero de 2023. Heinz Ebenstein, Jefe del Departamento de Acordeón de la MBA ha anunciado que las Categorías 1A, 1B y 1C se celebrarán el 25 de febrero de 2023, y las Categorías 2 y 3 el 26 de febrero de 2023. The 2023 Toppershoedje Orchestra Weekend will take place at the Bungalow Park Toppershoedje (picture below) in Ouddorp, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands from February 3rd to 5th, 2023. The event is organised by NOVAM (Nederlandse Organisatie Voor Accordeon en Mondharmonica). Accordionists Ronald van Overbruggen and Niek van Uden will conduct the orchestra. They have a varied repertoire planned for the participants. A final concert and presentation will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 5th, 2023. Registrations are open until January 9th, 2023. La Convención de la Asociación Nacional del Acordeón (NAA) se celebrará del 15 al 19 de marzo de 2023 en el Hotel Hilton, Richardson, Texas, EE.UU. La convención presentará versiones 2023 de Música Americana que es comercializable como música actual. La música es una combinación de música americana contemporánea originada por inmigrantes de EE.UU. que trajeron sus valores y tradiciones musicales al unirse al gran crisol americano. La música es una mezcla de estilos musicales que incluyen, entre otros, melodías populares, música folk, country y western (C&W), baladas que cuentan una historia, rock and roll, polcas y valses, música europea, gospel y jazz. The Lighthouse Function Center in Dargaville, New Zealand was filled to capacity for the 17th Afternoon of Music with Kevin Friedrich and Friends, a Variety Show featuring accordionists and entertainers from different parts of New Zealand. Report at: 2022Dargaville Accordionist Kevin Friedrich hosted his popular fundraising concert called ‘Christmas Joy’, on December 4th, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Presented by The Dargaville Museum, the 17th Afternoon of Music with Kevin Friedrich and Friends featured a variety of traditional and lighter themed Holiday music. Guest artists included the North Shore Accordion Orchestra, Anna Collins, Paul Jonson, Lionel Reekie, Jone Yelcich, Take 6, Linda Emmett Litt, Thomas Koloi, Rivertown Singers, Roslyn Gilmour, Alanah Jones, Maurice Jones, The Kaipara Ensemble, Sonja Whitehouse, Ian Bartlett and Jean Reid. The popular annual Holiday Show Concerts, which have been added to the annual regular season concerts, are a wonderful event for all ages, bringing the community and guests together for an afternoon of music and friendship. All proceeds are donated to the Dargaville Museum in support of their efforts to showcase the history of the community for future generations to enjoy. The Dargaville Museum hosts the only public accordion exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere “Accordion Gems, A Master Collection of Accordions Through Time”.
