ATAM 48th New England Music Festival - USA

Reunion Roger Latulippe
Rosita Lee Music Center Showstoppers Reunion Accordion Orchestra and Dancers directed by Rosita Lee (DeeDee) LatulippeNicole Parsons, a student of Roger Latulippe, was crowned the New England Accordion Champion while Rachel Quirbach was awarded the ATAM Entertainment Solo Champion at the 48th New England Music Festival sponsored by the Accordion Teachers Association of Massachusetts (ATAM).

The weekend included Competitions, Concerts, Workshops, a Gala Banquet and Student Dance, attracting participants from thirteen studios throughout New England.

A highlight of the weekend was the appearance of CIA Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Champion Grayson Masefield (New Zealand), who received numerous standing ovations for his concert of both classical and entertainment music. The ATAM performance was the first in a series of concerts throughout the USA for Grayson, and inspired the young accordion students who seldom have the opportunity to hear such performances live.

The festival came to a close with a final concert featuring several performance items. The concert opened with Jay Latulippe conducting his “Lets Play Music Stagecraft Festival Band, a performance by the Falcetti Music Springfield Accordion and Guitar Orchestra directed by Michael Falcetti and the grand finale featuring a magnificent performance by the Rosita Lee Music Center Showstoppers Reunion Accordion Orchestra and Dancers under the direction of Rosita Lee (DeeDee) Latulippe.

Celebrating their 40th Anniversary, the 60 piece combined Showstoppers Orchestra and Dancers invited former members to join them for this concert, as a prelude to their formal celebration concert and reunion to be held on June 13, 2010 in Hollis, New Hampshire.
