Five musicians from the St Petersburg Conservatory, Russia, visit Manchester, England, from October 15th to 23rd for a cultural visit. The musicians are Vladimir Fonin, ‘Honored People’s Artist of Russia’ – accordion, Mikhail Senchurov, Professor of Balalaika, Natalya Gorbenko – piano, and singers Anna Voronina and Sergei Kochetov. The organiser is Brian Hulme, balalaika teacher with the Manchester Music Service. The programme includes: October 18th – concert, Manchester Music Service HQ, Zion Arts Centre, Hulme, M/C 19th - official reception in Manchester Town Hall 20th, 8pm – Vladimir Fonin will give a master class plus a short recital at Stockport Accordion Club, Woodley Methodist Church, Chapel Street/A560 Hyde Road, Woodley, Stockport, Cheshire SK6 1ND (J25/M60); admission free 21st, 7.30pm – concert, Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester (RNCM box office number is 0161 907 5555) The concerts will also feature the Manchester Music Service's Kalinka Balalaika Orchestra (MD Brian Hulme).
