71st ATG Annual Competition and Festival, Florida - USA

Roland graphicThe Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International (ATG) welcomes all to their 71st Annual Competition and Festival at the Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel, Florida, July 27th to 31st.

The ATG Competition includes the following categories: Open Solo, Free Bass Solo, Ethnic/Folk Solo, Polka Solo, Jazz Solo, Diatonic/Button Box, Pop Solo, Digital Accordion Solo, Evaluation, Duets, Ensembles, Accordion Orchestra, and Accordions with Other Instruments Orchestra.

The Florida event includes the 2011 Roland-USA V-Accordion Festival finals, which will be held on July 29th. There will be three competition categories: Senior (age 18 and older), Junior (age 17 and younger), and Diatonic (age 18 and older).

and include: Sergio Scappini (Italy), Oleg Sharov (Russia), seven-time diatonic accordion champion Danilo Di Paolonicola, 2010 Roland-USA V-Accordion Festival winner Chris Gorton, father and son Alex and Peter Chudolij of Music Magic USA, Grammy nominee Alex Meixner, Steve Albini of Roland-USA, Jeff Lisenby, The Brian Laurie Accordion Showband (Scotland), Rock n Roll accordionist, Bruce Gassman, and Gordon Kohl.

The ATG Festival workshops will include:
•Teaching the Accordion - with panel of leading teachers from around the globe
•Conducting and Rehearsing Ensembles: hands-on experience with the professionals!
•‘Perform Confidently’ - workshops to enhance your performance, led by national educator
and expert, Helen Spielman
•Playing Rock and Roll, Pop Styles
•Digital Accordion Workshop
•Ethnic & Folk Dance Styles
