Accordions Worldwide sends congratulations to John Kirkpatrick (accordion, melodeon & concertina player) who was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2021 New Year’s Honours List (UK) for services to folk music. The MBE is awarded for an outstanding achievement or service to the community. This will have had a long-term, significant impact and stand out as an example to others. Those receiving the accolades are announced a few days before the end of the year and around the Queen's state birthday. During the 2021 Covid-19 lockdowns John plans to perform live online concerts every few weeks. His next concert will be held on January 24th, 2021 at 7.30pm GMT, where he will play tunes and songs from his CD’s “Morris On”, "Sheepskins", "The Duck Race", “Plain Capers” and many more..
