Accordéon Mélancolique’s new CD, Friesland - Netherlandsby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
Accordionists Cherie de Boer and Jean-Pierre Guiran, known as the duo ‘Accordéon Mélancolique’, have released a new CD titled ‘Les Invités’. The CD includes ‘Gånglåt’ (Swedish traditional), ‘The Godfather’ (Love Theme, Tarantella and Mazurka), ‘Le Cygne’ (Saint-Saëns), ‘Klezmer’ (Yiddish traditional), and ‘Gut Morgn’ (Kostakovsky), and the remaining tracks are original compositions by Jean-Pierre Guiran. The duo ‘Accordéon Mélancolique’ has given hundreds of concerts during the last few years, primarily in the Netherlands, and has appeared on television and radio many times. In 1998 they were honoured to be able to play at the Marshall Aid Commemoration in Rotterdam, before an audience that included US President, Bill Clinton, Prince Willem Alexander and Dutch Prime Minister Willem Kok. Despite these achievements they take great pleasure in their commitment to playing their music in old people’s homes throughout the Netherlands. Foreign travel has included performing in Canada, Iceland and Denmark. For further information email: info@acmel.nl |
