 Video above: Prize givingThe Czech Accordion Online International Competition was held under the auspices of the Creative Center of Ostrava recently. In pandemic times, this new competition had to take place entirely online. It was open to accordionists of all nationalities who complied with the rules. The categories were the following age groups: 1) up to 8 years, 2) up to 11 years, 3) up to 14 years, 4) up to 17 years, 5) up to 18 years, 6) Virtuoso Entertainment Music (no age limit). Jury members (alphabetical order), Fernando Avila, Wojciech Golec, Janka Halacova, Gorka Hermosa, Spodris Kacans, Dariusz Kownacki, Marcela Kysova, Eva Lis, Daniel Lis, Jiri Lukes, Michal Matejcik, Jan Meisl, Oto Mello, Milan Osadsky, Joachim Pichura, Iosif Purits, Zoran Rakic, Elzbieta Rosinska, Herbert Scheibenreif, Raimondas Sviackevicius, Borut Zagoranski, Jaromir Zamecnik, renowned performing artists, conductors, composers, and pedagogues. All judges’ decisions were final. Participants could receive feedback from the judges, via email, upon request.
