Ksenija Sidorova CD ‘Fairy Tales’, London - UKby Rob Howard |
On July 1st UK-based Latvian accordionist Ksenija Sidorova releases a new CD, ‘Fairy Tales’, featuring old and new repertoire, transcriptions and orginal works. Ksenija Sidorova performs on the recording with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Clark Rundell. The CD appears on the Champs Hill Records label, serial number CHRCD055. The CD tracks are: 1) ‘Caprice Espagnol’ - Moskowski 2 – 8) ‘Fairy Tales, a Concerto for Accordion’ - Vaclav Trojan 9) ‘Who's the Puppet?’ - Artem Vassiliev 10 – 14) ‘Holberg Suite’ - Grieg 15) ‘Scherzo - Midsummer Night's Dream’ - Mendelssohn 16) ‘Scherzo – Toccata’ - Petr Londonov Ksenija was recently awarded the Latvian Grand Music Award 1212 'Outstanding Performance' prize. She combines a busy international concert schedule, including performances with guitar star Milos Karadaglic, with outreach and education work. Ksenija plays a Pigini accordion.
