5th Accordion Art Festival, Pineto – Italyby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
During the 5th Accordion Art Festival Pineto special concerts with Igor Zavadsky (Ukraine) and the great Friedrich Lips (Russia) took place. The international jury included artists such as Zorica Karakutovska, Frederic Deschamps, Herbert Scheibenreif as well as some of the best known Italian masters. The Orpheus Awards (annual critics' prizes) went to: Caesare Chiacchiaretta, El Alma de Piazzolla (Quartet Suarez Paz) for the classical accordion, Daniele Di Bonaventura Sine Nomine (Harmonia Mundi) for the accordion and jazz, Bube Sapravie, B. Petrus Spaghetti Sauce (Most Records) for World Music, and a special Orpheus career award to Friedrich Lips. The Italian selection for the next Trophée Mondial CMA (Pineto, September 13th to 18th) and the CIA Coupe Mondiale (China, October 1st to 6th) has accepted eight candidates amongst the classical categories, and virtuoso categories: Sciammarella Simone, Francesco Bracci, Domenico D'Annunzio, Bosic Lorenzo, Andrea Di Giacomo, Matthew Petronio, George Albanian, and Antonio Simeone. The National Final of Roland V-Accordion has seen the triumph of Pietro Adragna in the senior and Andrea Di Giacomo in the junior category. The Artistic Direction was Renzo Ruggieri, and Salvatore Cauteruccio was the President of the festival, and Claudio Azzaro the Secretary.
