 Leading artist and teacher Friedrich Lips has the following engagements listed:August 24th – Zutphen, Netherlands; performance of ‘Seven Words’ for bayan, violoncello and chamber orchestra, by Sofia Gubaidulina, who will be present at the concert August 26th – master class on ‘Vladislav Solotaryov’, Zutphen August 27th – performance of ‘In croce’ by S.Gubaidulina, Zutphen September 5th - concert with ‘Piazzolla-Studio’, Bishkek, Kyrgistan (former USSR) September 6th – master class, Ebendorf, Germany September30th - solo and duo concert with Vladimir Toncha (cello), Hamburg, Germany October 4th – ‘Seven Words’ in memoriam of T. Mynbayev, Concert Hall, Gnessin Music Academy, Moscow, Russia October 9th – ‘Seven Words’ and Piazzolla programme, Minsk, Belarus October 27th to November 2nd - head of the jury, ‘Coupe Friedrich Lips’, Yemanzhelinsk and Chelyabinsk, Russia November 24th to 28th - Gubaidulina Festival, Moscow: November 25th – ‘Under the Sign of Scorpio’ for Bayan and Large Orchestra in Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Moscow, Valery Polyansky, conducting November 27th – ‘Tatar Dance’ for bayan and 2 double bass in House of Composers November 28th – ‘Fachwerk’ for bayan, percussion and chamber orchestra, Great Hall of Conservatory, Michael Agrest, conducting November 28th - adjudicator at ‘Coupe Byelogorya’, Belgorod, Russia December 14th to 18th – Festival, ‘Bayan and bayanists’, Moscow Friedrich Lips is one of the world’s foremost accordion players and teachers. Since 1971 Friedrich Lips has been teaching at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow, having studied there between 1967 and 1974, and in 1989 he became a Professor. As a player, he won first prize in 1969 at the Klingenthal Competition, and has since performed with distinction in concert halls around Russia and in many other countries.
