Master Class by Frédéric Deschamps in Haguenau - France

Frédéric DeschampsThis week Frédéric Deschamps held his annual master class in Haguenau, France organised by Music 67 Haguenau. With a full capacity hall Frédéric demonstrated the benefits of his techniques using students of different levels from the Alsace region.

Several of his advanced students also gave performances to demonstrate these teaching techniques. Radu Laxgang (CMA & CIA Junior Variety winner 2010) and Dorin Grama (CMA Senior Variety winner 2011) from Moldavia played pieces from their winning variety programs.

Grayson Masefield (winner of CMA & CIA Classical and Variety) performed classical repertoire including the new Petri Makkonen composition Tango-Toccata (winner of the Coupe Mondiale Special Award for New Works 2011, performed by Pavel Zyabko) which Grayson premiered earlier this year during the Montrond Les Bains competition, in France.

Also for the first time there was a demonstration of the newest Hohner midi product. Olivier Selac showed the audience the capabilities of this new midi system which can be installed on a acoustic or reedless instrument. He demonstrated the possibilities of the new midi sounds, drum tracks and other features including acoustic microphones that incorporate changeable reverb, delay and also supports midi and mp3 files.
