The accordion has a presence in South Africa, aided considerably in recent years by the promotional work of the very active accordionist Sergio Zampolli. Nico recently recorded with ‘Springbok Nude Girls’ and appears regularly at jazz festivals in South Africa. His CD ‘22 Goue Treffers’ gives a glimpse of his music as recorded through the years. His compositions have been used by Acker Bilk, Bert Kaempfert, The Shadows, James Last, Chet Atkins, Floyd Cramer and Geoff Love. |
