10th Accordion Art Festival & Contests
Renzo Ruggieri, Gerlando GattoVitali Dmitriev, Viivi Maria Saarenkylä, Claudio AzzaroThe 10th Accordion Art Festival (event organiser Renzo Ruggieri) is being held 18th and 19th June 2016 in Roseto Degli Abruzzi. Guest artists are:
- Vitali Dmitriev (Russia)
- Claudio Azzaro (accordion) with his group being: Davide Bernaro (percussion), Lorenzo di Marco Bernardino (guitar) Nicola di Camillo (double bass)
- Viivi Maria Saarenkylä (Finland)

The Orpheus Award 2016 is a critics prize, similar to Academy Award (OSCAR), dedicated to the productions by the Italian accordionists only. Artistic Director Gerlando Gatto.

Competition Categories for Students
The contest will be divided according to the following Sections:
- Classical Accordion (all types)
- Virtuoso Accordion (all types)
- Diatonic Accordion (up to 4 basses)
- Other Instruments (all instruments, all styles)
The contest will be divided for each Section into the following Categories
. cat. A (until 10 years old)
. cat. B (until 12 years old)
. cat. C (until 14 years old)
. cat. D (until 16 years old)
. cat. E (until 18 years old)
. cat. F (no age limits)

Competition Categories for Concertists
Classical Accordion Junior (up to 18 years), Senior (over 18 years)
Virtuoso Accordion Junior (up to 18 years), Senior (over 18 years)
Diatonic Accordion Junior (up to 18 years), Senior (over 18 years)

There are also categories for groups including group or accordion soloist with new original project.

The Art Festival includes selection of Italian candidates to qualify to for the 2016 Trophee Mondial to be held in September in Portugal.
