Gorka Hermosa’s TV and Concert ‘Malandro Club’ CD Release – Spainby Rob Howard |
Video: Malandro Club performs Brehme, composed by Gorka Hermosa, recorded in Urretxu 30th October 2015. Last week Spanish accordionist and Gorka Hermosa appeared on TVE (Spanish National TV) speaking about a new CD presentation concert by the group Malandro Club, and also on Spanish National Radio and Cadena Ser, the most listened private radio in Spain. The concert on March 5th at the Teatro Casyc, Santander, was a sell-out. The Malandro Club group members are Alberto Vaquero (trumpet), Gorka Hermosa (accordion) and Javier Mayor (bass). Their CD features original compositions in which are fused jazz, elements of folklore of the Iberian Peninsula, tango and classical contemporary music. According to Jorge Pardo, flutist of Paco de Lucia and Best European Jazz Musician 2013, "The great musical level of Malandro Club, their fantasy and sound take you to a different world." Guest musicians on this recording are Jorge Pardo (flute), Iñaki Salvador (piano), Alba Carmona (flamenco vocalist), and Borja Barrueta (drums).
