Angel Luis Castaño Concert News – Spain

Angel Luis Castaño, Spanish concert accordionist, has just returned from Poland where he has performed in the Autumn Warsaw Music Festival with the RTVE Orchestra. They played ‘Jonction’, by Jagoda Szmythka, directed by Arturo Tamayo.

On October 12th, the Duo Alio Modo (Angel Luis Castaño - accordion, and David Apellániz – cello), both Professors at the Superior Conservatory of Aragon, Zaragoza, will offer a concert in the VIII International Contemporary Music Festival of Tres Cantos, Madrid. The concert will be at 12noon in the Culture House Auditorium in Tres Cantos, and the program include works by Luis de Pablo (National Music Award 1991), David del Puerto (National Music Award 2005), Flores Chaviano and Gabriel Erkoreka. Also they will premiere two Spanish works for cello and accordion: ‘Games’, by Dolores Malumbres and ‘Natura Celestis’, by Carlos Perón.

Angel Luis Castaño and David Apellániz will appear on November 4th, 7pm, in the Cultural Hall of Renteria (Basque Country), Eresbil Eresiak. The program includes works by Erkoreka, Pärt, Gubaidulina, De Pablo, Escudero and Kuusisto. Some of these works are included in the last Dúo Alio Modo´s CD titled ‘Perspectivas’.

The most important premiere of this autumn for Angel Luis Castaño will be his Musical Show ‘About the night’, which will be premiered on November 10th in the XX Music Week of Segovia (Spain). The performers are Rejoice! Trio (David del Puerto, amplified guitar and composition - Carmen Gurriaran, soprano and Angel Luis Castaño, accordion). ‘About the night’ includes live music, electronic recorded music, poems and improvisation.
