Ksenija Sidorova CD ‘Carmen’, Riga - Latvia

Ksenija SidorovaVideo: Ksenija Sidorova performing at the Night of the Proms in Belgium. The concert was aired by EEN in Belgium. This video contains Carmen (with Il Novecento) and All Rise (with Il Novecento and Blue).

Latvian accordionist Ksenija Sidorova’s new CD ‘Carmen’, released on June 3rd, is a vibrant and exotic new instrumental take on Georges Bizet's operatic masterpiece, infused with a modern sound and original Latin spirit. She performs Bizet’s music with the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sascha Goetzel.

The melodies of the world's most famous opera are re-imagined in captivating Oriental colours and the irresistible rhythms of Latin American dance. Sidorova interprets the title role, tracing the passionate, tragic destiny of this iconic Femme Fatale on her debut album for Deutsche Grammophon.

Ksenija introduced her ‘Carmen’ in November-December 2014 at the Night of the Proms, performing a medley of Carmen highlights with symphony orchestra to tens of thousands in major arena and stadium venues across Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.

Tracks: Carmen's Walk, Seguidillas, La Siesta, Chanson Bohème, Love Song, Soir mélancolique, Sunrise over Seville, In the Cards, La Fiesta, The Other Woman, Spanish Pride, À la bohémienne, Date with Destiny, Reflections, Daybreak, Toreador (Los Toreros), Carmen's Shadow.
