| The first concerto for Bandoneon and Chamber Orchestra was recorded in Novi Sad, Serbia (November 15th and 16th, 2019). The 3 minute promo video above will give you an idea of the entire piece. Paolo Russo is the bandoneonist and composer of the piece which is in 3 movements (approximate duration is 24 minutes). The concerto is a post-Piazzolla tango-oriented work that presents elements of classical, folk, jazz and film-music. The general idea is to transcend the limits imposed by the dominant tango tradition, in order to explore other musical horizons and propose alternative scenarios, without renouncing completely to its peculiar and characteristic language, where the bandoneon can find new life as a solo instrument combined with a dialoguing and articulated use of the orchestra. Participating in this project are musicians of the Zrenjaninski Kamerni Orkestar, the entire audio recording crew at Studio M and the video recording crew, led by Srecko Milosavljevic.
