On Sunday November 5th, 6pm, accordionist Lydie Auvray will celebrate her 40th anniversary with a concert featuring her Auvrettes and some well-known friends at Wolkenburg, 59 Mauritiussteinweg, Cologne. Elke Heidenreich, Bettina Böttinger, Hannes Wader, and Klaus Hoffmann will all be present. Lydie Auvray (born 1956 in Normandy, France) is a French accordionist, composer, and singer. She has lived in Cologne, Germany, since 1974. She first appeared on stage in Berlin in 1976 and played with the folk-singer Jürgen Slopianka. In 1977 she began touring as an accompanist for various singers in West Germany, including Thommie Bayer and Klaus Hoffman. With Hoffman she recorded a live double-album, ‘Ein Konzert’. From 1980 she began playing and touring with the German folk-singer Hannes Wader. In 1982 she founded her own backing group, the Auvrettes. She has recorded several solo albums since the early 1980s. In 2003 Lydie Auvray published her autobiography, ‘Jubiläum’. |
