  Le secrétaire général de la Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA), Kimmo Mattila, écrit : "La CIA félicite l'hôte de la Coupe Mondiale 2022, le membre de la CIA accordeon.ch, pour avoir attiré 83 candidatures de 23 pays pour la 75e Coupe Mondiale à Zofingen, du 4 au 9 octobre 2022. "Alors même que nous assistons à une guerre dévastatrice en Ukraine et que le Covid cause toujours des problèmes, cette deuxième "Coupe Mondiale en présentiel" avec jury et concurrents en présentiel attire enseignants et concurrents. De plus, la CIA a reçu 60 inscriptions de délégués de 29 membres nationaux pour le Congrès International de la CIA avec de nombreux délégués participant également en tant que jury pour les Championnats du Monde d'Accordéon de la Coupe Mondiale. Le président de la CIA, Mirco Patarini, écrit : « Nous sommes très heureux d'avoir un si grand nombre de concurrents, de délégués et de membres du jury présents pour la 75e Coupe Mondiale. Nous aurons un grand événement avec de la vraie musique dans une situation en présentiel. La musique est un art qui est "ici et maintenant", il n'y a rien de plus émouvant pour l'artiste et le public qu'un concert dans une belle salle !"  Les inscriptions pour les 8èmes Journées internationales de l'accordéon à Prague, en République tchèque, se clôtureront le 23 septembre 2022.L'événement se tiendra dans la salle du Musée des arts appliqués de Prague du 27 au 30 octobre 2022 et comprendra un concert d'ouverture avec des invités internationaux, des concours, un concert de gala, des orchestres et un concert final des lauréats.  The 2022 Dean Martin Prize was awarded to accordionist Danilo Di Paolonicola (pictured below at the award ceremony) in Vasto, Italy this week.Danilo is the creator of the Orchestra Popolare del Saltarello project which was born from an operation of research and revaluation of the musical tradition of Abruzzo. The Dean Martin prize was given in recognition of his work with the orchestra. |

| Video: Music clips from Zamar “Zamar” celebrated Spring with a concert entitled “Dis Zamar Lekker” at the Drostdy Theatre in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa on Sptember 9th, 2022. The group features Monika Stuchlik Kahl (accordion & vocals), Veronica Bell (violin & vocals), Philip Vermeulen (guitar), Warren Joubert (bass) and Ronald Siegelaar (drums). Their name “Zamar” means “to celebrate with the plucking of strings”. Their program included popular light classical music, Hungarian rhapsodies, Ukrainian folk melodies, South American tangos, Irish folk music, traditional African songs and contemporary classics. |

Harmonika Müller GmbH will exhibit a variety of musical instruments in Hall 3, Stand 17 during the event. |

| An accordion exhibition entitled “Making the Accordion Great Again” by Liberty Bellows is currently on display at Philadelphia International Airport, between Terminal A East and B. The exhibition, which includes 40 accordions, will run until the end of December 2022. The Airport’s Exhibitions Program is a nationally-recognized, award-winning visual arts initiative which began in 1998. The exhibits change throughout the year to provide a variety of educational and cultural programs. This forum for presenting visual arts attests to the Airport's commitment to supporting arts and culture. The Exhibitions Program provides millions of visitors from around the world access to a wide variety of art forms by artists and arts institutions from the Philadelphia area. |

  Video 1: A reel of concert and interview clips with the trumpet / accordion duo.Video 2: “Redbud Winter” -- Eric Vloeimans, trumpet & Will Holshouser, composer and accordionist. “Redbud Winter”: a cold snap in early spring when the redbud trees begin to blossom (expression used in Tennessee). In memoriam Cynthia Shoemaker (1939 - 2021). This piece was commissioned by the American Accordionists' Association (2021), and premiered at the AAA Seminars of Dr. William Schimmel, Curator - on July 30, 2021. Accordionist/composer Will Holshouser and Eric Vloeimans (trumpet) are touring USA and Canada this month to celebrate the release of their new CD, “Two for the Road” via Bandcamp. “Two for the Road was recorded during a live concert tour of the Netherlands in 2021, during a window in the pandemic when musicians and audiences could finally come together.  Rik Cornelissen will run an Improvisation Workshop at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Arnhem, Netherlands on September 24th from 11am to 3pm.
