Free Admission, World Premiere: Joan Grauman Accompanies Silent Movies, Washington DC – USAby Rob Howard |
On Saturday November 10th accordionist Joan Grauman will be part of a quintet playing the world premiere of a fantastic 70 minute work by Kim and Kathryn Kluge. This music is accompanying several restored silent films made between 1899 and 1902, showing scenes from Paris. The concert/film is at 2pm and free to the public at the East Building, National Gallery of Art, Washington DC. Joan Grauman is well known as the AAA Historian and AAA Board member, and was once the solo musician in Immergruen, Baltimore’s leading Bavarian performing group in the 1970s and 1980s. Joan and her husband, Dan, own and operate SqueezinArt specializing in gifts for accordionists and are also the Directors of the Frank Marocco Accordion Event as well as being closely involved with many Washington DC area accordion activities. |
