Leavenworth International Accordion Celebration, Washington – USAby Rob Howard |
 This year’s annual Leavenworth International Accordion Celebration takes place from June 15th to 18th in Leavenworth in Washington State, organised by the Northwest Accordion.The event includes accordion competitions, concerts, workshops, free accordion lessons, a trade show, dancing, jam sessions, and an accordion parade. This year’s guest accordionists and workshop leaders include Stas Venglevski (Moldova), Sergei Teleshev (Russia), Jim & Shirley O’Brien, Jim Tobler, John Giuliani, Kim & Dan Christian, Kori Tideman & Max Kyllonen, The Portatos, Mark Myking & Zydeco Rex, Lyn & Toby’s Polka Parade, the LIAC Dance Band, and the Northwest Accordionaires. There will a Roland Virtual Accordion demonstration by Steve Albini, and an exhibition and history of the diatonic accordion by Tom Tilton.
