 On Friday June 16th, doors open 7pm, the Guildford Accordion Club presents the Japanese accordionist Masahiro Ogawa in concert. The venue is the Ripley Village Hall, Ripley, Surrey GU23 6AF - free car parking. Admission is £5 (includes refreshments).Masahiro Ogawa has been living and working in London for the past three years and is soon to return to Japan. He started playing the accordion at 5 years old taught by his mother who is a piano and accordion teacher. Since 12 years he has been self-taught and had no further other formal type of training, developing his own style of playing, particularly enjoying playing film scores. He has been a representative for Japan Accordion Promotion Conference (JAPC), whose aim it is to promote the music of the accordion and increasing the number of accordion players. In 2010 he won first prize at the V-Accordion contest organized by Roland in Japan, and competed at the International V-Accordion contest in Rome in October 2010.
