 Welcome to the Ukrainian Bayan and Accordion’s Day! We are delighted to announce this international event, promoted by the National All-Ukrainian Music Union and the Association of Bayanists and Accordionists of the Ukraine.On Saturday 30th a non-stop concert will be held in Kiev, starting at 12 noon until 9pm. Performers in this concert will be representative of the young generation of Ukrainian bayanists/accordionists. In the same week many exciting concerts will be held in different regional centers of the Ukraine. This is a great event whose purpose is to revitalize the bayan and accordion in the Ukraine, where this fantastic instrument is very important for our tradition, and also emphasize the relevance of bayan and accordion in contemporary and 20th Century artistic creation. The Association of Bayanists and Accordionistas of the Ukraine will take part of the concert series ‘New Music in Ukraine’, led by Professor Volodymyr Runchak (picture left), as an example of the great art of the new Ukrainian generation of composers.
