 Powell River’s First Annual Accordion Fest directed by Walter Martella and Karina Inkster takes place from May 6th to 7th, 2022 and is a project of the Powell River Academy of Music. The festival will feature two days of diverse events with a concert performance by an accomplished and outstanding accordionist, workshops for beginners and advanced players alike, and a wide range of musical genres for audiences to enjoy. Guest performer, Jelena Milojevic (picture right), is a highly regarded performer. She studied both in Croatia and Serbia and ultimately received her Master’s Degree in Accordion Performance and Education, in the Music Academy (FILUM) in Kragujevac, Serbia, where she is now completing her Doctoral Degree in accordion performance.
