 Picture above left to right: José Alfonso Maslucán Culqui - President Accordion Association of PerúPatricia Balbuena - Minister of Culture of Perù Mauro Marsili - Ambassador of Italy to Peru Mirco Patarini Marisol Espinoza Cruz - Congresswoman Peru James Atkins - President of Petroperú The newly formed “Asociacion de Accordeonistas de Peru” (Association of Accordionists of Peru) welcomed on the 25th August with great enthusiasm at their 1st international concert, accordionist Mirco Patarini who is also the President of CIA (Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes). The event presenting the new national accordion association plus a concert with ethnic local groups and a masterclass, organized with the collaboration of local authorities including the Minister of Culture Patricia Balbuena, the President of the above mentioned association Alfonso Maslucan and Marisol Espinoza Cruz, Congresswoman and an important political figure in Peru. The concert took place in Lima in the great Theatre of the Cultural Centre of San Isidro and was sold out. Mirco Patarini enchanted the audience with his performance of different musical styles in keeping with the aim of pomoting art, culture and music and accordion tradition, both folk genre and also concert repertoire. During speeches at the end, Mirco Patarini invited the new association "to apply to the CIA for membership with the hope of having Peruvian competitors at future Coupe Mondiales, the oldest and most important international accordion competition." Mirco Patarini was honored to receive from the Congreso de la Republica Peru a certificate of "Recognition to Mirco Patarini for his valuable and constant support in the promotion and dissemination of Peruvian culture and accordion." The certificate was signed by Daniel Enrique Salaverry Villa (President del Congreso de la Republica) and Congresswoman Marisol Espinoza Cruz who also presented the prestigious certificate to Mirco Patarini. Also attending was the owner of LATAM airlines, the Ambassador of Santo Domingo, the President of the Commission for Culture of the government and many other important people of Peru. |
