  An Accordion Open Day at the Royal Academy of Music, London, will take place on Thursday November 13th, 10am – 5pm. It will take place in the Richard Lewis Room and is free with no booking required. Here is the schedule for the day:10am – 12 noon: Head of Accordion Owen Murray (picture left) introduces the work of the Accordion Department, the career possibilities open to young accordionists, repertoire development and the accordion as a chamber music instrument. 1.05pm: Accordion Chamber Music concert in the David Josefowitz Recital Hall – free, no tickets required. Academy students perform chamber music works by Schnittke, Locatelli, Piazzolla, and Trojan for classical accordion, violin, cello and guitar. 2pm – 5pm: Workshop for young accordionists to play and receive advice. Anyone interested in taking part should send an email to accordion@ram.ac.uk with their age and proposed repertoire. |
